Meet Dr. Jonathan Van Dyke
Dr. Jonathan Van Dyke serves Marco Island patients with much acclaim due to his advanced dentistry skillset and commitment to patient comfort. After receiving his Doctorate in Dentistry from the LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida—Dr. Van Dyke returned to his home state of Washington. During this time, he practiced dentistry in Spokane and pursued advanced education with studies in endodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry.
Since he originally studied dentistry in Florida, Dr. Van Dyke was eager to call Marco Island, Florida home for its beautiful weather and wildlife. As a result, Dr. Van Dyke quickly became one of Marco Island’s renowned dentists for residents and visitors alike. Above all, Dr. Van Dyke is devoted to enriching Marco Island with the latest advancements in dental technology.

Dr. Whelen was born and raised in the Piedmont area of North Carolina where his appreciation for the outdoors and an active lifestyle began. After moving to Florida during high school, he attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando. He then completed his doctorate at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale.
Dr. Whelen has expanded this appetite for knowledge and advanced dental treatments as he pursues his pathway of continuing education. He completed advanced training in surgical extractions, platelet-rich plasma therapy, and bone grafting techniques. He also graduated the Digital Smile Design Residency with Dr. Christian Coachman and is a member of the renowned Spear Academy. Dr. Whelen has also completed over 300 hours of education in Implant Dentistry studying under Dr. Jack Piermatti and Dr. Shanker Iyer at American Academy of Implant Dentistry Maxi Course. Furthermore, he is a licensed provider for LANAP (“laser gum surgery”), a unique and wonderful alternative to traditional techniques. Dr. Whelen is also a certified Invisalign provider who loves to see new smiles!
