Invisalign® treatment at Island Tower Dentistry begins with a consultation with Dr. Van Dyke, an Invisalign-trained treatment provider. Dr. Van Dyke will physically assess your smile and bite and use an iTero Element® 3D scanner to map out teeth placement. ClinCheck® software then uses this information to develop a custom treatment plan designed to quickly and effectively resolve all alignment and bite issues. The treatment plan provides a digital demonstration of how the clear aligners will move the teeth over time, as well as estimates on how much time and how many different aligners will be needed.
Once the plan is finalized and agreed to, your first custom aligners are produced by a 3D printer. When they are ready, Dr. Van Dyke will ensure that they provide a proper fit, review day-to-day protocols, and answer any questions. You wear each set of aligners for one to two weeks depending upon the treatment plan and typically meet with Dr. Van Dyke every six to eight weeks to check progress and pick up the next batch of aligners. Adjustments to the original plan may be needed to be made depending upon progress, but the technology typically proves effective at tailoring treatment that works as planned.
